Bombay High Court Employees Credit Society

About the society

A society of colleagues, built on trust since 1931.

For more than nine decades, the employees of the Bombay High Court have run their own co-operative credit society: saving together, lending to one another at fair rates, and looking after each other's families.

Who we are

The High Court Employees' Co-op. Credit Society Ltd. is a co-operative credit society owned by its members, the employees of the High Court. Members hold shares of ₹500 each, save through monthly compulsory deposits, and borrow from the society at 8.75% interest.

The society’s profit goes back to members: as a dividend on their shares (8.5% proposed for 2025-26), and through welfare funds that support members through illness, their children’s education, retirement and bereavement.

The society is managed by a twelve-member Board of Directors, which met 15 times in 2025-26. Its accounts are examined by statutory and internal auditors, and for 2025-26 the society was awarded an “A” audit classification.

How it works

Four simple ideas, ninety-five years strong.

01

Join as a member

Employees of the High Court establishments covered by the bye-laws become members by holding shares of ₹500 each in the society.

02

Save every month

A compulsory monthly deposit builds every member's savings with the society, and you can raise it up to ₹10,000 a month.

03

Borrow when you need

Emergency, short-term, long-term and special loans, all at 8.75% interest on the balance outstanding, repaid through salary.

04

Share in the surplus

Profits return to members as dividend on shares, and through welfare funds for illness, education, retirement and bereavement.
